1. How long do you stay at the wedding for?
That depends on which package you book. Usual coverage is the bridal preparations through to sitting down for the wedding breakfast, speeches and cutting of the cake.
2. How do we get the photographs?
You will get a disk of all the photographs plus a story book of selected shots.
3. How many pictures do you take?
The number of pictures taken depends on number of guests, the amount of time available and can be weather dependent. On average you will have around 300 photographs on disk and around 100 selected images for your wedding book.
4. How quickly will the pictures be ready?
Your photographs will be available online on your password protected gallery within 21 days of your wedding date.
5. Can we get a DVD of all the pictures to print?
Yes. All the packages include a high resolution disk that you can print from and share online with you family and friends.
6. Will you photograph everyone?
We will try and get pictures of everyone at your wedding and will include the big group shot which should get everyone on it, allowing for people who always disappear at this point! We will photograph people mingling during the day. At our pre meeting you will be asked to make a written list of all the groups of people you want photographed and to assign 2 guests (ideally 2 people who know the guests and have a big voice) to gather these people together on the day.
7. What would be your standard group photographs?
It’s good to have one big group photograph and we have the professional equipment to cope with this and get everyone’s face in focus. The other group shots are down to you though and what you want. If parents are contributing to costs then it is good to have their input.
8. Do we have to have group pictures?
No, it’s your choice and you may prefer a completely reportage style (candid) which is something we specialise in. The time we would have spent doing the group shots will be spent recording the mingling of your guests. Usually, the relaxed mood after the ceremony and first drink lends to some great photos and a lot of laughs
9. Do you shoot with film or digital?
I love film and use it in fine art based projects but for weddings it’s digital.
10. What are wedding books?
Books are where the images are printed directly onto the page as opposed to photographs mounted into an album. We use this style because it allows our clients to have 4 times the amount of photographs for the same cost and lets us tell your story in more detail. The important part is that the book is designed well and printed on the quality photographic paper by professional printers.
11. What is your style of photography?
A fine art background and technically qualified we deliver quality, high resolution images with a flair for making your photographs unique to you. We cover the shots that we know you want (see our gallery) such as the bride’s arrival and the first look. Our style is to photograph the real story of your day and tend to steer away from getting of getting ushers to jump up in the air … unless this is what you want. We will have a good talk before hand and we want you to be delighted with photographs and will not override your wishes.
12. How do we book Imagehouse?
We would usually meet before to discuss what you want and a deposit can be paid then. If you would like to secure the date before we meet payment can be taken online. As we can cover weddings all over the UK and abroad, sometimes this isn’t possible and so discussions can be by telephone, email, skype or facetime. A contract will be sent out at this time.
13. Do you visit the wedding locations before the day?
Yes, if it is a venue that we haven’t photographed at before or for a while. It’s always good to seek out more unusual parts of the grounds so your photographs don’t look like everyone else’s and have checked out the lighting if we have to photograph indoors.
14. When do we pay you?
We take a £200.00 booking fee to book the day which is payable when you complete our paperwork. The balance is due 30 days prior to your wedding
15. What if your equipment breaks on the day?
For my own peace of mind as well as yours we have spare equipment for everything – cameras, lenses, lighting, cards, batteries.
16. Are you insured?
We have full public and professional liability insurance.
17. Do you photograph the ceremony?
It depends on the registrar or priest conducting the ceremony. We will find out before the wedding and let you know how we can work with their requirements.
18. Do you work alone?
No, I always work with another photographer which gives you much better coverage of the day. Weddings can cost so much that it would be a shame to miss the details. We want to give you a keepsake that has recorded as much of your day as possible and that can be passed down through the generations..
19. What areas do you cover?
We are based in North West England and can travel to any area.
20. Do you charge expenses?
If your wedding is in the North West then there is no charge for expenses. Beyond there mileage would be charged at 45p per mile.
